Eph 6:14b "and having on the breastplate of righteousness"
the Roman breastplate protects the soldier's vital organs in battle. the breastplate consists of 2 parts, each made of shiny strips of iron. The breastplate represents righteousness. Objectively, righteousness is bought by Christ and imputed to believers in justification. Subjectively, righteousness is earned by Christ and imparted to believers in sanctification. Now.. 3 pts on how to put on the breastplate of righteousness. 1. Be determined to fix your eyes on the Lord, believing in justification by grace through faith alone. 2. Examine yourself and make your callin and election sure. 3. Work out your salvation in fear and trembling in response to the work of sanctification.
